Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, sexual identity, gender identity, panic attacks, or addiction issues. Maybe you are experiencing a lack of confidence, a sense of loss, or an inability to connect with others. Reasonably, you may have found yourself dealing with any combination of these issues at the same time. I work with clients to better understand the issues that they are struggling with, explore how their current behaviors and patterns are influenced by their past relationships and experiences, and consider any other connections/factors that might be causing them distress or difficulty.

Therapeutic Approach:

There are times when our suffering can feel unbearable, and we are searching for someone (or something) to give us the answers and make the hurting stop. My role as your therapist is not to give advice; instead we will work together to better understand your patterns of thought and behavior, increase your self-awareness, and empower you to make the choices and changes that will enhance your confidence, well-being, and sense of place in the world.

My therapeutic approach is highly collaborative and draws upon attachment theory, the relational model, self-psychology, and intersubjectivity theory.
